Russian military helicopters over the M-4 highway in Syria (VIDEO)

On 20 December 2019, a pair of army aviation helicopters in north-eastern Syria conducted another patrol on the M-4 highway.

A peculiar feature of flying missions, according to the pilots, is that the local population, who previously feared the helicopters and often tried to hide in houses and basements, now welcomes our helicopters.

Residents are accustomed to flying Russian rotorcraft and understand that aviation equipment designed for combat becomes a defender of stability and peaceful life, a sign that the traffic on the route is improving, and Russian pilots become a guarantor of safety.

The presence of Russian pilots in the Syrian sky has become permanent. In addition to air patrols, our helicopters also participate in joint Russian-Turkish patrols, providing air cover for equipment convoys.
